I started out seven years ago in Lake Tahoe apprenticing for a wonderful woman, Yvette Beebe, who worked on the world tours of Janet Jackson and Cher. Soon after, I developed my own style of makeup. I would tear out photos in magazines that inspired me, replicating them and turning them into my own. I believe every artist is somewhat self-taught through trial and error. If I’m not continually creating and learning, I’m not growing. I focus on each woman’s individual beauty. I don’t confine myself to one signature look because each woman is different, plus her mood and style changes from day to day. A woman’s differences are the essence of her beauty. I want to enhance what you’ve got, not cover it all up.
My PhilosophyGreat ideas come when chances are taken and rules are broken. Although I love to push the limits and feel there is edginess to my work, I am a true believer that less is more. I have had endless opportunities to work with real women and prefer a lighter touch even when doing something fun and playful. Everyday makeup should be natural and practical. Women look best with a fresh, clean face and a pop of lively color. Makeup is about feeling great about yourself and having fun.
